Title: Chapter 1 - Was It My Mistake?

[Author's notes:

A/N: I mainly posting this here because, well I missed it and Magnus reminded me about it. This fic is an old one of mine, that I edited as much I cared to. : I think it falls short of how good it could have been if I had written it now.

This chappie is only so-so, as it feels like it was rushed. Please do give it a read though as the alternate endings are at least worth reading! T-T Okies?

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the Tenchi characters in this fic.

Warning: I think Ryoko and Kiyone may be somewhat OOC. T-T Please don't hold that against me! This is an old fic that I've revised repeatedly as best as I wanted to! XD

 A Torn Heart
[Chapter 1 - Was it My Mistake?]

Sitting at the window, Ryoko looked out into the dark and sighed before turning her attention to a sleeping Aeka. They had been together for about four months and things were going quite well now that they had settled their differences. However, that was until 'she' showed up.

'Damn her! Why did she have to come looking for that idiot, Mihoshi?' Ryoko thought bitterly.

Ryoko was worried because she was beginning to feel attracted to this other woman. It bothered her more tham anything because she was deeply in love with Aeka. Now this other woman was making her question her love for the Jurian princess. Sighing, Ryoko wished she could talk to someone but no one in the house even knew about her and Aeka. As she looked out the window, a figure moved toward the lake. At first she couldn't tell who it was, but the moonlight finally revealed it was 'that' woman.

Frowning, she phrased from the room to a couple of feet behind 'her'. She stood there quietly as she looked at the beautiful woman. Ryoko loved the way the moonlight hit her body it what seemed like just the right way, making every curve on the other woman stand out through her silky night gown. The space pirate moved closer until she was close enough to smell a light perfume on the other woman. She bit her lip, reaching out hesitantly toward the other woman, her hand softly falling upon the other woman's shoulder.

Startled, Kiyone jumped at the touch and spun around to face the space demon. She looked into the soft yellow eyes and a tear ran down her cheek. Ryoko's hand gently wiped it away.

"What's wrong?" Ryoko asked.

"Nothing. I just couldn't sleep." Kiyone replied, blushing.

Ryoko looked into the sad blue eyes in front of her. 'She's so beautiful,' she thought. The space demon moved closer to the still blushing woman. Her fingers traced Kiyone's jaw line softly, almost not touching it. Kiyone sighed and rubbed her cheek against the cautious hand. Ryoko smiled slightly and without thinking she kissed the blue-haired woman. The pirate thought the other woman would pull away, but instead she kissed back and wrapped her arms around Ryoko's neck.

"Ryoko...?" Kiyone whispered, suddenly pulling away.

"I'm sorry, I really shouldn't have done that. I have Aeka and I know you have Mihoshi. But I..." Ryoko was silenced by Kiyone's finger.

"Don't apologize. I've been waiting awhile for you to do that."

Ryoko smiled, relieved that Kiyone wasn't mad at her for what she did.

"Do you want anything to happen between us?" Ryoko asked growing serious.

Kiyone looked into the yellow eyes of the space pirate before answering 'yes'. Ryoko smiled again and kissed her while phasing them both to a spare room in the house. Kiyone barely noticed this as wandering hands began to remove clothes. Within minutes they were both naked and lying in bed.

Ryoko eagerly kissed Kiyone's soft lips. The pirate's hand caressed the soft skin of the bluenette's thigh. Her hand inching up along Kiyone's inner thigh and up to her increasingly wet core. A low gasp escaped the bluenette's mouth as Ryoko slipped a finger into her. She slipped another in as her tail gently brushed against Kiyone's breasts. Moaning quietly, Kiyone tried not to make too much noise as Ryoko's fingers picked up their pace and thrust deeper and quicker into her. Biting her lip, Kiyone ran her fingers through the pirate's hair, her body arching against the thrusts.

Ryoko moved her fingers faster until she knew Kiyone was about to come, and pulled them out, leaving the bluenette squirming for release. She smiled at the frown the panting woman gave her, before a mischievous smile crossed Ryoko's lips. Her tail moved between the bluenette's legs and rubbed her softly, giving her the push she needed to send her over the edge. Finally sated, the bluenette wrapped her arms around the space pirate and pulled her into a passionate kiss. She was tired after all the excitement of finally having Ryoko.

"I think I'm falling in love with you." Ryoko said in a low voice.

"Is that a good thing or bad thing?"

"I don't know. Maybe it's good for us and bad for you-know-who and the other you-know-who."

"Maybe they'll find each other." Kiyone joked sleepily.

They both laughed and Kiyone began to fall asleep on Ryoko's shoulder. The demon smiled and suggested she get dress and go back to her room. Reluctantly, Kiyone got out of the bed and put her clothes back on as Ryoko did the same. They kissed one more time before slipping off to their own rooms.

Ryoko carefully laid down next to Aeka, trying not to wake her up. As she started to fall asleep, Aeka rolled over and rested her head on Ryoko's shoulder. She cuddled up close to the space pirate and slept with a smile on her face, unaware of what Ryoko had done. Looking down at the sleeping princess, she sighed. She didn't know what to do with her heart. Should she give it to Kiyone? Or leave it with Aeka? For the first time in Ryoko's life, she was unsure of what was more important to her. This new woman or an old love? She didn't know which she should pick. The space pirate sighed again and fell into a deep sleep that she hoped would never end. But the sad truth was, it would and she would have to face what she really wanted.

To be continued

[End notes:

Ending A/N: This story was kinda rushed when I first wrote it. I'm lazy so I didn't really rewrite it. But I did proofread it and cleaned up all the typos, so at least it's decent. Please do proceed to the much better alternate endings.

Btw, yes, Ryoko has a tail in this fic. So what? I thought it was cute back when I first wrote this. ^^;;

Chapter 2

Title: Chapter 2a - It Really Was Your Mistake

[Author's notes: A/N: This is the first alternate ending to this fic, hence why I called it chapter 2a.

Warning: Character death ahead. This is a fairly dark chapter. ^^; Never realized that until now. Probably still some mild OOC-ness. My advance apologies if there is.]

 A Torn Heart
[Chapter 2a - It Really Was Your Mistake]

Ryoko opened her eyes slowly, last night's escapade still fresh in her mind. Her stomach cringed in regret as she wondered if last night had actually happened. No way, it couldn't have. Turning her head lazily, Ryoko looked at Aeka. The Jurian princess was still asleep next to her and she felt a sense of relief wash through her. Yawning, she shook Aeka lightly, feeling the need to make sure she was there. The princess sighed and opened her eyes slightly.

"Morning, sleepy-head." Ryoko said.

"Good morning." Aeka yawned.

Sitting up, Aeka stretched causing the blanket to fall down, revealing her bare breasts beneath. She got up and reluctantly pulled on her robe, before pausing to look over at Ryoko, who somehow seemed distant this particular morning.

"What's wrong?" Aeka asked, carefully.

"Nothing... I just hate to see you put that robe on." Ryoko lied.

"Don't worry. You can get rid of it later." She said, winking and leaving the room.

Ryoko watched the princess leave, feeling sad. In her mind, she replayed the night before. 'What was I thinking?,' she thought as she wondered if it had really happened.

Getting out of bed, she looked out the window almost expecting to see Kiyone out there. Of course, no one was there. She tried to shrug off the previous night, hoping that maybe it was all a dream. She pulled on a pair of denim capris and a blue long-sleeve shirt. Ryoko then made her way down to breakfast, which she could already smell cooking.

Mihoshi was already sitting at the table when Ryoko got there. The space pirate smiled briefly at the blonde before sitting. One by one, the household made their way to breakfast. Ryoko noticed that Kiyone was the last to come down. She noted that the bluenette seemed out of place that morning and also noted the side glances Kiyone kept sending her way. Ryoko ignored them, feeling anxious.

After breakfast, Ryoko decided to rest on a rafter in the house. Everyone had gone off to do different things, or at least that's what Ryoko thought as she slowly slipped into sleep in the quiet house. A noise beneath her stirred back from her almost sleep. Annoyed, she looked down and saw Kiyone below her. A strange feeling went through the space pirate as blue eyes met yellow ones. Her eyes then slowly moved up and down the other woman's body, which was wrapped in a thin and very revealing robe.

Before a word was breathed, Kiyone's robe fell to the floor. Her creamy white skin seemed to yell out for Ryoko's touch. The space pirate felt a familiar ache between her legs and hated her body's immediate reaction to the bluenette naked form. Without thinking, she hopped down from the rafter and stood in front of Kiyone. Their lips were inches apart for a split second before they actually met. Ryoko knew that she couldn't have dreamed of a kiss this good and she realized that last night really had happened. Before Ryoko could process anything more, Kiyone was pulling off her shirt. Kiyone moved her hands slowly over Ryoko's breasts, stomach, and sides. Her hands only paused slightly to pull down the pirate's capris. Ryoko stepped out of them and she could feel Kiyone lightly pushing her to the ground. Compling, the pirate laid on the floor, her heart pounding, suddenly scared. Moving her hands over Ryoko's body, Kiyone settled on gently massaged the pirate's breasts. Then tickled her sides as she moved her hands downwards softly, moving down until she was caressing Ryoko's thighs. Kiyone's lips touched the pirate's breasts softly before they moved down and lightly kissed her stomach. Ryoko moan softly at the light touches and kisses.

"Oh my!" A voice shouted from behind them.

Both Kiyone and Ryoko jumped to their feet at the sound of the voice. Aeka stood in the doorway, fury and pain flashing back and forth on her face. Her tears streamed down her face as she balled her fists as tightly as she could. Her whole body shook as badly as a leaf in a hurricane. Ryoko's heart sank all the way down to her feet as she watched Aeka. This wasn't going to be pretty in the least.

"Aeka, I can explained!" Ryoko started, though unsure as to what to say.

"Explain what!? That she tripped and fell into your pussy?" Aeka shouted. "H.. How could you,
Ryoko? I love you!"

"Miss Aeka, it wasn't her fault. It's all mine. I started it all and I'm sorry," Kiyone said, unaware of the true danger she was in by even speaking.

"Stay out of this you goddamn, sleazy bitch!"

"Aeka, calm down. Please, sweetheart, stop." Ryoko said, approaching her angry girlfriend and tried to place a hand on Aeka's shoulder.

"Don't touch me!"

>SMACK< Ryoko's face went pale from the slap. She watched Aeka stomp out of the house. Rubbing her cheek, Ryoko felt numb. Why had she let this happen? Ryoko tensed at Kiyone's touch.

"Go away."

Ryoko jerked away from her and phased herself into some clothes before heading outside to find Aeka. She didn't to have to look far when she spotted Aeka near the lake. The princess was on her knees, brawling her eyes out. It hurt Ryoko so much to see her like this. She tried to comfort the princess and apologize but Aeka wouldn't let her.

"I hate you! Do you know how much I sacrificed for you and you do this!? Leave me be."

"I never asked you sacrifice anything for me. You did that of your own free will." Ryoko said, angrily before pausing and sighing. "Listen, I'm sorry for what happened. It was an accident, do you hear? Just a horrible mistake. We all make mistakes."

"I can't believe you just said that. What was I to you all this time? A piece of ass? Is that what that woman is to you as well?"

"No. Aeka, that's not what I meant," Ryoko said and moved toward Aeka, but she moved away.

"Stay away from me, Ryoko."

"Please, stop acting like this, Aeka. I said I was sorry."

"Do you think 'sorry' is going to fix everything that happened? Will it make it magically disappear?"

"No. But it's a start."

"No. You are wrong. This is the end."

Ryoko hadn't noticed the small logs that had circled her. In a second, she felt sharp, painful blasts emit from them. Each hit left behind a deep cut and her blood dripped onto the grass. Crying, she blasted them away with several energy blasts. For those she missed, she leapt into the air, and out of their reach.

"Aeka! What are doing?"

"What I should've done before I loved you."

Several dozen more small logs surrounded Ryoko. These were more powerful than the first batch. A few direct hits left small holes through Ryoko. As she fought to get away from them, she saw Aeka watching her with a horrible smile on her lips. Then she saw a ball of energy form in her hands. Ryoko swore the blast was for her but when she saw Aeka raised her hands to her own chest, she knew it wasn't.

"Aeka, no!" Ryoko shouted, but it was too late.

Ryoko looked away as an explosion came from Aeka. She had put all her strength and energy into one blast to her heart. As Aeka fell to the ground, the demon blasted away all the small logs that were following her and rushed to the princess' side. The hole in Aeka's chest was huge and Ryoko almost puked. She could smell burnt flesh and blood all over Aeka.

"I'm so sorry, Aeka. I would've done anything to change what happened," Ryoko cried, clenching Aeka's body to hers.

She couldn't feel any life in Aeka and she was terrified for the first time in her life. The space pirate had lost the one person that meant the most to her. It was all too much for Ryoko to handle. With a final glance at Aeka's cold and dead body, she called for Ryo-ohki. The little cabbit appeared at her side almost instantly.

"It's time to go, Ryo-ohki."

"Meow?"

"No, you can't bring any carrots with you! Now let's go."

"Meow," Ryo-ohki said sadly.

Ryoko collected the cabbit in her hands and threw her into the air. Meowing, the small creature turned into a huge spaceship. Beaming Ryoko aboard, they left as quickly as possible. Never to come back.

The End?

[End notes: End A/N: I had thought about maybe continuing this ending in a separate fic back when I first wrote it, but that was so long ago that I doubt I can do it now. v.v Kind of sad, but it can't be helped.

Chapter 3

Title: Chapter 2b - Do Over

[Author's notes: A/N: This is the second alternate ending to this fic, hence the name 'chapter 2b'.

Warning: Just some fluff. XD This is a very tamed chapter compared to the rest of the fic. ^^;]

 A Torn Heart
[Chapter 2b - Do Over]

Ryoko blinked her eyes slowly and immediately realized two things: One, she couldn't move, at all. Two, she was in a force field of some sort. 'Probably one of Washu's machines.' She thought. A bunch of thoughts flooded her at once, including: 'Why am I in one of Washu's machines?' and 'Why can't I move?' and lastly, 'Where is Aeka?' A door opened somewhere in answer and light flooded the room, momentarily blinding Ryoko.

"Glad to see you awake, little Ryoko." Washu said, her chibi face appearing in Ryoko's line of vision.

"Where am I?" Ryoko tried to ask but her mouth felt dry and all she could manage was a raspy cough.

"Try not to talk much. You've been here for several months and your mouth is probably as dry as a desert. Especially since the wound nearly severed your head off. Let me check..."

Washu produced a small device from hammer space and passed it above Ryoko's throat. It clicked and beeped, almost triumphantly.

"It appears the wound has healed nicely and there are no signs of damage to you vocal cords. You might be raspy for a few days but you'll be able to scream and yell like usual in a week."

"Where am I?" Ryoko tried again, barely getting the words out.

"Where are you? In my lab, of course! Don't you remember what happened?"

Ryoko shook her head slowly.

"Nagi came after you again about four months ago. She nearly snapped your head off with some new kind of metallic toy she had found. Kiyone and Mihoshi fired at her and one of the bullets accidently blasted through your chest. The bullet barely missed your vital organs. You almost died." Washu finished, close to tears.

The demon stared at her, dumbstruck. She almost died four months ago? So did that mean that she's been sleeping for that long? Then in reality, Ryoko had only dreamed of being with Aeka. Then that meant she never cheated on her with Kiyone and Aeka wasn't dead! Still, it had felt so real. Maybe it was because it was a dream that had lasted for so long? Suddenly she wanted to see Aeka. Dream or no dream, in her heart she knew that they were meant to be together.

"Everyone's been coming to see you regularly." Washu was saying. "Especially Aeka. Which was very surprised based on the way you two always treated each other. But she was by your side for almost a month before I finally kicked her out. I had to make visinting hours after that."

"Washu?" Ryoko choked. "I mean, mom, don't tell anyone I woke up yet."

"Sure. Visiting hours are over for the day, anyway. Get some rest."

The little scientist left, shutting off the lights on her way out. Ryoko stood staring at the ceiling through the green force field that still surrounded her. She still couldn't believe so much time had passed. What really bothered her was that she couldn't remember the fight with Nagi. As she was thinking about all this, she had closed her eyes.

Someone entered the room, but Ryoko doubted it was Washu. She could hear the dragging of heavy robes on the person. It could've only been one person - Aeka. Ryoko didn't dare open her eyes. She wanted people to think she was still out, at least until tomorrow.

"Good evening, Ryoko. I see you're still asleep. Hopefully, Miss Washu won't catch me here. I've had enough of that scientist's restrictions so I came down for a midnight visit." Aeka said.

'Midnight? Heh, I huess it's tomorrow already.' Ryoko thought silently.

"I miss you, Ryoko. What am I saying? I don't miss you, demon! I'm glad that this happened to you! I...I don't miss you! But . . . it hurts so much to think you are not here, with me. I need you, Ryoko. Please come back soon." Aeka was crying.

The cyan-haired woman was completely shocked at what she heard. This wasn't like Aeka at all. She was even more shocked at what she heard next.

"I love you, Ryoko. You evil demon."

This was Ryoko's chance. If she wanted to be with Aeka, like she was in her dreams, then she had to say it.

"I love you, too, Aeka. You damn bitch," Ryoko said in a raspy voice.

"R... r... r... My lord! Ryoko! Is that you!?"

Opening her eyes slowly, Ryoko smiled.

"Yep, the one and only."

Aeka screamed. It was somewhere between happiness and terror. The light in the lab snapped on and Ryoko could hear Washu's small figure moving around.

"Aeka! What the hell are you doing here!? It's past visiting hours!" Washu yelled.

"R... .r... ryo . . . ko . . . !"

"What about her? She's okay."

"I think I scared her." Ryoko said and coughed, grimacing.

"Serves her right! She isn't supposed to be here. Besides, she ruined the surprise."

Ryoko heard a thump on the floor. Aeka had passed out.

"Damn, I just mopped," Washu grumbled.

"Wa . . . Mom, let me out."

"Do you think you're strong enough to move on your own?"

"Yeah. Let me out," Ryoko said uncertainly.

Washu hesitated before Ryoko heard her push several buttons and the green force field disappeared. With some effort, she pushed herself into a sitting position and stretched. Her whole body was stiff from lying in one place for so long. Looking at the floor, Ryoko observed Aeka lying on the face down in a small puddle of drool. 'No wonder Washu was grumbling about mopping.' Swinging her legs over the side of the machine she had been in, she stretched again before setting her feet on the floor. Standing up, she moved to Aeka's side with some shaky steps. Finally, she knelt down next to the princess.

"Aeka, wake up." Ryoko said softly, not wanting to force her throat too much. "Tenchi's mine."

"Stay away from him, you twit!" Aeka yelled and stood up in a flash. "Huh?"

"Hehe... Glad to see you up, Aeka," Ryoko said, standing up.

"Ryoko? I wasn't dreaming after all!"

The Jurian princess embraced Ryoko. Surprised, Ryoko hugged her back and waved away her nosy mother. Washu smiled and complied with the wish, quietly leaving the room.

"Um... Ryoko, about those things I said before..." Aeka started.

"You meant every word."

Before the princess could argue, Ryoko kissed her. Aeka was surprised and almost pulled away, but in the end she couldn't. Instead, she kissed back. When the two blushing women pulled away, it was evident that this was the first kiss of many.

"I really do love you, Ryoko."

"I think I do too. I spent all this time dreaming of only you."

The princess blushed redder and kissed Ryoko again. Their second kiss was better than their first. Eventually, Aeka pulled away reluctantly and rested her head on Ryoko's shoulder. In return, the demon placed her cheek on Aeka's head and smiled. 'This is a great beginning,' Ryoko thought.

The End

[End notes: End A/N: So this was the second ending. BTW, the force field I was talking about is the one from Tenchi in Tokyo [though that's not the timeframe of this fic, which somewhat incorporated small elements of the three original Tenchi series]. It's the healing force field, bed thing Washu places Ryoko in after Tenchi nearly kills her in the beginning of Tenchi in Tokyo (or was it during a flashback? It's been awhile... ><).

Now, if you're wondering why I did two endings, then I'll tell you. Originally, I had only wanted it to be one part and that's it. Then, after rereading the first chapter, I couldn't help but wonder, "What happens next?" So I decided to write a second part but I couldn't think of how to end it. Should Ryoko end up with Aeka or Kiyone? I wanted her to be with Kiyone but when I started writing the first ending, I couldn't picture her with Kiyone, so I ended it the way I did. Then I wanted an ending that showed her with Aeka. So I thought one day, "What if it never happened?" And thus, this ending was created. ^^;; I think, I think too much, even back when I first wrote this fic.

For the record, I wrote this fic whilst between the ages of fifteen and sixteen, so I apologise for the crappiness. ><;;
