Chapter 2

"Hello girls. Miss Sommers, welcome. Miss Valencia, how... nice to see you again." The principal said, somewhat not-so-cheerfully when he adressed Reina. She mocked him when he looked at their teacher. "Mrs. Adams, that's all. How are you doing girls?"

"Fine, thank you Mr. Aebischer." Rebecca replied politely.

"See now Miss Valencia, that is the type of behavior you could learn well from." Mr. Aebischer turned his harsh stare to her. Reina shifted and coughed uncomfortably.

"Mr. Aebischer, why are we here?" Rebecca tried to get Reina out of the spotlight.

"Godd question Miss Sommers. Reina here has been lacking in her classes, and needs some extra help. A person with your intelligence, well, it's almost like a godsend. Are you willing to accept?"

"Of course."

"No way!"

The girls said at the same time.

"Now Reina, whether you like it or not, Miss Sommers here is going to be keeping busy with you to study, and hopefully out of my hair." Aebischer said sternly. Reina grumbled and stood up. She practically flew out of the room. He turned an apologetic gaze to Rebecca. "Reina can be very putting-off on the first impression, but she means well."

"O-of course." Rebecca looked a little uneasy as she too went back to class.

~~~
"Of course I'm not happy!" Reina snapped. "I don't need a tutor!"
"Apparently you do." Aisha commented.
Reina's eyes flared. "Did I ask you?!"
"No, but I'm gonna give my opinion anyway." The taller girl shrugged. Reina yanked on her friend's brown hair hard. "Ow!" Aisha slapped her hand away. She was pretty much used to Reina's mood swings by now. Aisha persuaded her friend to relax and sit down at their usual lunch table. "Besides, at least your new tutor is a decent girl." Aisha flagged down Rebecca who was looking pretty lost as to where to sit.
"Thank you so much. I really don't know anyone here but you two." Rebecca gushed gratefully. Aisha waved it off. Reina stared at their new companion, sizing her up. Rebecca was taller than the both of them, maybe 5'7" or 5'8". She had blonde hair and slate eyes. She was attractive, in a soft, feminine way.
"What school did you go to before?" Aisha tilted her head to the side curiously.
"Actually, I was homeschooled up until now, so being in a real school is a new experience for me."
"It's different, isn't it, from what you see in the movies and on TV." Reina spoke up. Rebecca nodded. "Yet, at the same time, it's exactly the same time."
"Well Reina, I think that's one of the first time's you've ever had an intelligent though." Aisha snickered. Reina threw her empty milk carton at her in response. She knew how much Aisha hated anything to do with milk. "Disgusting!" Aisha wiped the remaining milk off of her face as it slid through her blonde-highlighted hair. In retaliation, she poured her water down Reina's shirt. Rebecca laughed in entertainment.
"Is this common?" She asked through giggles.
"Quite." Reina calmly sopped up the cold water. "To the point where even other people tend not to notice we mess around so much."
"Only because we love each other." Aisha grinned and rested her arm on Reina's shoulder.
"You're like a sister to me. No." Reina pushed it off.
"You swing that way?" Rebecca looked kind of shocked.
"We kinda play for both teams, ya know?" Aisha spoke for both of them. Rebecca made an 'o' with her mouth. "Why, do you?"
"N-no, I'm only attracted to girls." Rebecca blushed a vibrant shade of pink.
"It's fine, don't act so embarassed." Reina said. Aisha excused herself to go to the bathroom. Rebecca picked at her food in an awkward silence. "Okay, geez, don't look so put off. You can come by my house after school tomorrow to help me study."
"Your mother won't mind?"
"'Course not. She has friends over randomly, why shouldn't I? C'mon we have to get to chem." Reina linked her arm with Rebecca and dragged the taller girl down the hallways. Leaving behind a mess at the lunch table.
